After Suvendu Adhikary, TMC’s Jitendra Tiwari Quits Party
Jitendra Tiwari’s resignation reportedly comes a day after he attended a closed-door meeting with Suvendu Adhikari.
Close on the heels of Suvendu Adhikari, another TMC leader tendered his resignation from the Trinamool Congress on Thursday, 17 December. Jitendra Tiwari has resigned from the post of chairman, Board of Administrators, Asansol Municipal Corporation.
Tiwari’s renunciation comes only days after he blamed the state government for not letting the city get assets to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore from the Center under the Smart City venture due to political reasons.
PTI cited him saying, “I have left the post of the executive of the Board of Administrators of Asansol Municipal Corporation. In the event that I am not permitted to work, how will I manage the post? Thus, I have surrendered.”
Tiwari was purportedly expected to meet CM Mamata Banerjee on Friday, yet it’s muddled whether the gathering is currently liable to occur.
Tiwari’s abdication supposedly comes a day after he went to a shut entryway meeting at Purba Burdwan MP Sunil Mondal’s home with Adhikari and a couple of other TMC pioneers including Col Diptangshu Chowdhury, director of South Bengal State Transport Corporation, and Nityananda Chattopadhyay, councilor of Guskara district.
Adhikari’s choice to venture down has set off a progression of renunciations. On Thursday, six territory leaders of the TMC surrendered in the Bamangola people group block zone in the Murshidabad region.
