Bad news for Chinese smartphone brands, may cause damage
Chinese smartphone companies may see a decline in sales in the second quarter of the year 2020. According to the details that are coming out, it is being speculated that non-Chinese brands can perform better than before and their market share may increase already. The anti-China movement is also believed to be the reason for this.
Recently the Indian government has banned Chinese apps and now the bad news is coming for Chinese smartphone companies as well. For the first time, the total sale of Chinese smartphone brands can be seen falling. Researchers at IDC India, Counterpoint Research, and Canalys believe companies may see losses in the April-June quarter.
Market trackers have attributed the anti-China movement seen on social media to this. Apart from this, the supply chain of Chinese brands has also been affected and during the lockdown, production could not be done in Indian plants as before. Due to this, despite increasing demand, Chinese brands have not been able to sell on the same scale as before.
Market share may decrease
The total market share of Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, and OnePlus reached more than 80 percent in the January-March quarter. Many of the senior seniors have acknowledged that the brands’ performance in the market has been affected during the second quarter. In such a situation, the market share of companies can be reduced by 5 to 9 percent. Apart from this, Boycott China is thinking twice before buying Chinese devices due to the trend on social media.
The condition of these brands is better
Director of IDC India Research Navkender Singh said that Samsung may see growth in the second quarter if we talk about the details that have been revealed so far. Apart from this, the sale of Chinese handsets may look less than before and in addition to online, the offline market will also see a decline for some time. Non-Chinese brands have been doing well in the market since last year.
