Bangla Sahib gurdwara gets a pharmacy
Set up by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the pharmacy was inaugurated on Saturday.
Hoping to buy medicines at discounted rates, Sunil Kukreja (55) waited in line outside Bala Pritam Dawakhana, a pharmacy inside the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. Set up by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the pharmacy was inaugurated on Saturday.
“This is an additional advantage for us; we can visit the gurdwara and get medications simultaneously. I have come here to purchase medications for BP and diabetes,” said Kukreja, an inhabitant of Rajinder Nagar. With his head protector shop in Patel Nagar shut since the lockdown, he said he was thinking that its difficult to set something aside for drugs and figured out how to get them for half of the market cost at the drug store.
Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, DSGMC leader part stated, “In the midst of the pandemic, numerous families are confronting monetary issues. Similarly, as we give free food in the langar, we chose to give prescriptions at limited, discount rates. There are zero benefits for us. On the off chance that this is a triumph, we will open all the more such drug stores in different gurdwaras.”
As updates on the drug store spread, many visiting the gurdwara lined up outside. Notwithstanding, not all had remedies.
When Nishu Gupta (26) knew about the drug store, she chose to get meds for her dad who requires stroke medicine. “They said we need a remedy and I was not readied. Next time I visit the gurdwara, I will convey remedies,” she said.
