Durga Puja pandals in West Bengal will be no-entry zones for visitors and only organizers are allowed, the Calcutta High Court said today

Durga puja pandals will be no-entry zones for visitors, the Calcutta High Court said today — just three days ahead of Bengal’s biggest festival. Only organizers will be allowed inside the Pandals, the court said, limiting the number to 25 for big Pandals and 15 for the smaller ones in view of the coronavirus outbreak.

The court said all pandals should erect blockades at their passageway – the separation is five meters for little pandals and twofold that for the large ones.

Underscoring the requirement for consistence considering general wellbeing, the High Court said there are insufficient cops in Kolkata to man swarms at the city’s 3000 or more pandals.
