In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, it was decided that the OBC Commission will now also take care that people of any caste do not have to be denied the benefit of reservation due to the spelling mistake. The commission can report it by January 2021, ie 6 months’ time has been given in advance.
15000 crores for the development of livestock
A provision of Rs 15000 crore has been made for livestock development in the cabinet meeting. This will also increase milk production and will provide employment to millions of people.
Government banks, including 1482 urban co-operative banks and 58 multi-state co-operative banks, are now being brought under the Supervisory Powers of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The powers of RBI, as applicable to scheduled banks, will now apply to cooperative banks as well. This decision was also taken in the cabinet meeting.
Two percent discount on interest on Shishu Loan
Union ministers Prakash Javadekar, Jitendra Singh and Giriraj Singh informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet. Under the Mudra loan, the Shishu loan will get a two percent discount in interest. This will benefit more than nine crore beneficiaries.
