Amid the ongoing tension in Ladakh, China has deployed missiles DF 26/21 capable of carrying its nuclear weapons extensively along the Indian border. Pictures from the satellite have revealed that China has deployed DF-26/21 missiles at its Corla military base in Xinjiang province. These missiles are clearly visible in the photographs. The range of this missile is about 4000 km and it covers most cities of India.

These satellite images released by open intelligence source Detresfa have been taken in June this year. According to the latest report of the Federation of American Scientists, the first missile was deployed at the Kurla base in April 2019 and the second missile in August 2019. According to reports from Chinese media, the 646th Brigade of the Chinese Army, armed with DF-26 missiles, was first announced to be deployed in April 2018. Subsequently, in January 2019, the Chinese media announced that the DF-26 missiles were manned in the northwestern plateau of China (adjoining India).

US scientists believe that China’s nuclear weapons are much more than India. China will soon overtake France to become the third most nuclear-armed country in the world. China’s nuclear weapons numbers have doubled in the last 15 years. China is going to increase the number of these nuclear weapons significantly in the next decade. He said that China’s growing nuclear weapons have increased the anxiety of its neighboring countries. The latest report of the international nuclear watchdog Cipri said that China has increased its stock of nuclear weapons last year. According to Cipri’s report, India has 150 nuclear weapons and China has 320 nuclear weapons. China has increased 30 nuclear weapons in the last one year, while India has 10 atom bombs.

Able to carry nuclear and conventional weapons DF-26

China’s DF-26/21 missile has firepower of up to 4,000 km and covers most of India’s cities. China has deployed it just 500 km from Ladakh. This missile is renowned worldwide for its dual capability. The DF-26 is capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional weapons. Due to this capability, it will be difficult for the enemy to understand which missile is carrying nuclear weapons.

The DF-26/21 is known as China’s ‘Guam Killer’ missile due to its firepower. Guam Japan has a US naval base. China, for the first time in its military parade in 2015, presented this missile to the world. The missile is now held by the Chinese Army’s Rocket Force. India has its collision Agni-4 and Agni-5 missiles. According to the latest report, China has about 80 DF-26 missile launchers with a total of 80 to 160 missiles.

China deploys long-range nuclear bomber, cruise missile

While the Chinese Foreign Ministry is claiming peace and stability with India along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, on the other hand, the People’s Liberation Army and the Air Force are continuously increasing their preparations. Along with the missiles, the Chinese Air Force has deployed long-range bomber aircraft H-6 capable of carrying nuclear weapons at Kashgar Airport.
