Chinese soldiers retreat from three areas in Ladakh
Ladakh standoff: Continuation of talks this week on the ongoing border dispute with China is going to move forward. Earlier Chinese troops withdrew their steps from three areas. According to government sources, Chinese troops have retreated by 2.5 km.
The ongoing impasse with China in Ladakh is gaining political momentum with good news coming from the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The soldiers of India and China have retreated to their respective areas from three different regions of East Ladakh. This initiative by both the countries before the military talks to be held this week has raised hopes of ending the tension that has been continuing for more than a month.
The Indian and Chinese military are scheduled to meet this week at several different locations in Ladakh, including Petroling Point 14 (Galvan Area), Petrol Point 15, and Hot Springs Area. Top sources in the government have given this information.
He said that the Chinese army had retreated 2-2.5 km from Galvan Valley, Petroling Point-15, and Hot Springs Area. Sources said that this is the effect of the Lt. General level talks and upcoming meetings on 6 June.
Sources said that since the first Chinese army withdrew its steps, the Indian army also withdrew some of its troops and vehicles from those areas. According to him, battalion commander-level talks are taking place from both sides on these points of tension. Indian troops are already present in Chusul to negotiate with China, who are assisting senior officials.
Keep in mind that some people are claiming to be inside the Chinese army in Ladakh. Lieutenant General (Retd) HS Panag then wrote an article saying that the Chinese Army has captured 40 to 60 sq km of land inside Indian territory in Ladakh. If this is true, then only 2 to 2.5 km retreat of the Chinese army can be considered as a sign of resolving the issue peacefully.
However, the ongoing standoff with China in Ladakh has also started gaining momentum in the country. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh first responded to the remarks made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and in return, Rahul raised a serious question. This time Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju accused him of doubting the country’s military power.
