Drama in TMC as Jitendra Tewari Does U-Turn on Resignation Within 24 Hrs
The Pandabeswar MLA had resigned as the chief of the Asansol Municipal Corporation on Thursday and quit the party hours later to follow rebel leader Suvendu Adhikari into the BJP.
Drama unfolded in the Trinamool Congress late on Friday when MLA Jitendra Tiwari did a U-turn within 24 hours of tendering his resignation from the party. Tiwari reportedly said he had made a mistake and urged the party leadership to not accept his resignation.
The Pandabeswar MLA had surrendered as the head of the Asansol Municipal Corporation on Thursday and quit the gathering hours after the fact to follow rebel pioneer Suvendu Adhikari into the BJP.
On Friday, in any case, Tiwari met senior Trinamool pioneer Arup Biswas and survey tactician Prashant Kishor at south Kolkata’s Suruchi Sangha club. “It was my misstep. There were a few errors. Biswas affirmed Tiwari’s choice to stay in the TMC. “Jitendra Tiwari was, is, and will be with the Trinamool Congress. He will battle against the BJP as an unwavering trooper of Mamata Banerjee. There are issues in all families yet they can be tackled,” Biswas said.
Tiwari’s abdication was broadly observed as the aftermath of the insubordination by Suvendu Adhikari, the substance of the TMC supremo’s Nandigram development. The political heavyweight finished his two-decade-old relationship with the gathering this week and expressed gratitude toward Banerjee for the circumstances she gave him. Adhikari had surrendered as an individual from the Mamata Banerjee bureau and from a few different posts that he held a month ago.
