An FIR was filed against Anurag Kashyap at Mumbai’s Versova police station on Tuesday night after a female actor claimed that the filmmaker raped her at his home, seven years ago. She had earlier accused him of molestation.

Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap after a female actor accused him of sexual misconduct in 2013, an official said on Wednesday. Anurag has dismissed the allegations as “baseless”.

The First Information Report (FIR) was enrolled at Versova police headquarters late Tuesday night after the entertainer alongside her legal advisor Nitin Satpute moved toward the police, the authority said.

The FIR was enlisted under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (I) (assault), 354 (attack or criminal power to a lady with the expectation to shock her humility,), 341 (unfair restriction), and 342 (improper repression), the authority stated, including that further examination is in progress. Anurag will be called for addressing regarding the supposed seven-year-old episode, he said.

In her police protest, the entertainer affirmed that Anurag assaulted her at a spot on Yari Road in Versova in 2013.

The entertainer and her legal counselor prior drew closer Oshiwara police headquarters here on Monday, yet they were approached to go to the Versova police headquarters as the supposed occurrence occurred under its territory of locale, the authority said.

They had moved toward the Oshiwara police as Anurag’s office is situated here. Satpute in a tweet late Tuesday night stated, “At last FIR has been stopped against Accused of the offense Rape, Wrongful Restraint, Wrongful Confinement and insulting unobtrusiveness of lady.” On Saturday, the entertainer took to Twitter, guaranteeing that Kashyap was explicitly unseemly towards her, a claim the chief called “unjustifiable”.

Anurag considered the entertainer’s case an endeavor to “quietness” him for his frank perspectives.

His legal counsel prior to a tweet stated, “My customer, Anurag Kashyap, has been profoundly tormented by the bogus charges, these are totally bogus, noxious and untrustworthy.”
