Gupkar alliance set to wrest 13 of 20 district councils in J&K
With 3 seats, BJP makes inroads into Valley | Detained PDP leader wins
The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), led by former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah, is heading for a big victory in the first local elections after the erstwhile state lost its special status last year.
As per the most recent patterns, the partnership, a Kashmir-based combination of standard gatherings, including the NC and the PDP, is driving on 113 seats, trailed by the BJP (69) and the Congress (23). The BJP has, in any case, had the option to make advances into the Valley by winning three seats.
In the Jammu division, the BJP is ahead on 66 seats, while the Gupkar coalition is winning 37. In Kashmir, the union is driving on 75 seats, while the BJP is ahead on three.
Casting a ballot was held for 280 seats, 14 each in every one of the 20 regions of the UT, in eight stages more than 25 days.
According to the most recent patterns, the Gupkar union and the Congress together are probably going to win 13 region committees, while the BJP and its partners are set to win six. Among noticeable victors is PDP youth wing president Waheed Para, who was captured by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for his supposed connections with aggressors. The PAGD was framed in dissent against the Center’s choice to annul the uncommon status of the recent state and its division into two Union Territories.
