Roads are submerged in Lower Parel, Dadar, Hindmata, Kings Circle, Sion, Chembur, Andheri, Santacruz, and many other areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the next 24 hours.

Trains run again

The Western Railway had earlier suspended train service between Bandra and Churchgate. However, on Tuesday, the first slow train departed from Churchgate at 12.55 minutes and from Andheri at 11.40 minutes.

Rain up to 300 mm

Some suburbs received up to 300 mm of rainfall. The Meteorological Department said that from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Colaba and Santa Cruz received 6 mm and 19 mm of rain while Thane received 16 mm of rain.

Heavy rain warning in next 24 hours

Due to incessant heavy rains, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Mumbai, Thane, and North Konkan and forecast very heavy rains in the next 24 hours.

163 pumps for water drainage

The incessant rains in Mumbai have led to flood-like conditions. BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said, ‘It started raining in Mumbai at 7 pm Monday and slowed down around 5 to 6 am today. Mumbai recorded 239 mm of rain in 10 hours. Due to heavy rains, the water level of the Mithi river also increased and the danger mark reached above 27 meters.
