Passengers from India can arrive in Hong Kong only if they have a COVID-19 negative certificate from a test done 72 hours prior to the journey, according to rules issued by the Hong Kong government in July.

Hong Kong has banned Air India flights till the end of August after some passengers on one of its flights tested positive for COVID-19 post-arrival, a senior government official said on Wednesday.

Travelers from India can show up in Hong Kong just in the event that they have a COVID-19 negative declaration from a test completed 72 hours before the excursion, as indicated by rules gave by the Hong Kong government in July.

In addition, every worldwide traveler is required to take a post-flight COVID-19 test at the air terminal premises in Hong Kong.

“A few travelers who arrived in Hong Kong on one of Air India flights as of late tried COVID-positive post appearance,” the administration official said.

“The Hong Kong government has prohibited all Air India trips till August-end,” the authority included.

Air India didn’t react to the PTI’s solicitation for input.

The carrier had said on Twitter on Monday: “Because of limitations forced by Hong Kong Authorities, AI 310/315, Delhi – Hong Kong – Delhi of eighteenth August 2020 stands deferred. The next update in such a manner will be insinuated soon. Travelers may please contact Air India Customer Care for help.”

Other than India, a pre-flight COVID-19 negative test outcome declaration is obligatory for all travelers originating from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Africa, and the United States, as indicated by the Hong Kong government’s standards.

A carrier working a trip to Hong Kong from any of these nine nations needs to present a structure before flight expressing that all travelers locally available have COVID-19 negative testaments.

Booked global traveler flights keep on staying suspended in India since March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Notwithstanding, unique worldwide flights have been working with the endorsement of flying controller DGCA.

Air India has been working uncommon worldwide trips since May 6 under the Vande Bharat Mission to help abandoned individuals arrive at their goals.

Since July, India has built up independent reciprocal air bubble courses of action with nations like the USA, Germany, France, the UAE, the UK, and the Maldives for global flight tasks.

Under a reciprocal air bubble agreement, carriers of the two nations can work global trips with specific limitations.
