Mehbooba Mufti, the head of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been in confinement for longer than a year after was captured just before the rejecting of Jammu and Kashmir’s unique status and its bifurcation into two Union Territories on August 5 a year ago.
The top court today gave fourteen days’ an ideal opportunity to the Jammu and Kashmir organization to give its remain on how long Ms. Mufti can be kept in authority and whether her guardianship can be stretched out past one year.

In July, Ms. Mufti’s confinement under the Public Safety Act was stretched out for an additional three months.
