India ‘strongly deplores’ attacks on Emmanuel Macron for tough stance on radical Islam
Emmanuel Macron has come under severe criticism from various Muslim-majority countries for his comments on Islam in the wake of beheading of a teacher in Paris. The teacher had shown caricatures of Prophet Muhammad to his students and was beheaded for it.
India on Wednesday strongly deplored the personal attacks against French President Emmanuel Macron following his tough stance on radical Islam, calling it a violation of the most basic standards of international discourse.
In an emphatic proclamation, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) additionally condemned the fierce psychological militant assault that ended the life of a French instructor in a grim way and asserted that there is no defense for illegal intimidation in any capacity whatsoever or under any situation.
“We unequivocally regret the individual assaults in unsatisfactory language on President Emmanuel Macron disregarding the most fundamental norms of global talk,” the MEA said.
“We additionally censure the severe psychological militant assault that ended the life of a French instructor in a frightful way that has shocked the world. We give our sympathies to his family and the individuals of France,” it said.
Following the MEA explanation, French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain thanked India saying the two nations can rely on one another in the battle against illegal intimidation.
“Much obliged to you @MEAIndia. France and India can generally rely on one another in the battle against psychological oppression,” he tweeted.
Macron has been confronting analysis from different Muslim-dominant part nations after he took an intense remain on extremist Islam and defended sketch of the Prophet Muhammad. The French President said that Islam was a religion in “emergency”.
