India winning the battle against Corona?
India Coronavirus Update: Latest data confirm that India’s position in fighting corona virus is getting better. There has been a lot of good news ranging from an increase in testing and an increase in the recovery rate.
The number of coronavirus cases in India has exceeded 27 lakhs. More than 55 thousand new cases were reported in the last 24 hours while more than 57 thousand patients recovered and went home. During this period, the number of total deaths has increased to 51,797 with the death of 876 patients. While these figures reveal the magnitude of the epidemic, there is another aspect of the picture. The rapid work done in the direction of testing and isolation in India can be clearly seen in the increased recovery rate and decreasing death rate. The difference between active cases and recovered cases is about 1.3 million.
Improvement in the condition of 30 states of the country
There are 30 states / UTs in India that are outperforming the national average. According to the Union Ministry of Health, early detection of cases, isolating them on time, effective clinical treatment has reduced the case fatality rate. The death rate from corona in India is 1.92 percent and is among the lowest death rate countries in the world.
Recovery rate now crosses 73%
The number of people who have recovered from Corona in the country has increased to 19,77,779. This means that 73.18% of the total cases have been recovered. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka are the states where the recovery rate is still lower than elsewhere. Delhi has the best recovery rate.
A new record made of testing
India has recorded 8.97 lakh tests in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID Testing Labs in the country has increased to 1,476. Of these, 971 are government labs while 505 are private labs. There have been 3,0941,264 tests of Corona in the country so far.
Positivity rate remains constant
Despite the number of records tested, Kovid’s positivity rate in India is stable. It has been 8.81% in the last 24 hours while the weekly national average has been 8.84%. The positivity rate has been below 9% for the last 15 days. The growth factor for new cases (daily infection cases / previous day infection cases) also remains at 1%.

A mutation of the rapidly growing corona virus in some parts of Asia may prove to be good news. Experts have said that even though it is more contagious, life is less. The D614G mutation is reported to be 10 times more infectious than the common Korena virus. But with its outbreak, the death rate has decreased worldwide.
