Karnataka to promulgate ordinance against cow slaughter: CM Yediyurappa
The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2020 makes the slaughter of a cow or a bull or a buffalo under the age of 13 a punishable offence.
Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa said on Friday that the state government will promulgate an ordinance to enact the bill against cow slaughter, after the Karnataka legislative council got adjourned sine die without taking up the contentious bill.
The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2020 makes the butcher of a dairy animal or a bull or a wild ox younger than 13 a culpable offense. Any infringement will welcome a prison term somewhere in the range of three and seven years, or potentially a fine between Rs 50,000 and Rs 5 lakh.
The bill was passed by the get together on Wednesday, in the midst of racket, with firm resistance from Congress. The administrative committee was deferred sine pass on Thursday, and the bill is yet to be postponed there for section.

Prior to the day, the main pastor held an uncommon ‘gau puja’ (cow adoring function) at his official living arrangement. “The entire world realizes that Hindu dharma venerates cows. We will declare a statute as the committee didn’t collaborate,” he said.
