Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s additional private secretary CM Raveendran on Thursday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with the gold smuggling case.

Raveendran has just been brought multiple times by the Central office. He has first gathered a month ago, however, he was unable to show up as he had tried positive for Covid-19. Afterward, he remained away referring to post-Coronavirus confusions. He was given a new request after he was released from the Thiruvananthapuram clinical school medical clinic a week ago.

Raveendran has additionally moved the high court, looking for expectant bail yet the ED has contradicted it, saying he was not made blamed regardless. The court is relied upon to hear his request later in the day.

CM’s other secretary, senior Indian Administrative Service official, M Sivasankar, is as of now in legal authority regarding the case. Raveendran was gathered based on Sivasankar’s articulation, said a senior authority of the multi-office test group, mentioning obscurity.

A week ago, the CM had guarded him saying he was avoiding addressing because of medical affliction. He said the Central offices can’t do anything against him as “he holds a decent history”. He had scrutinized the offices, asserting that they were going about according to the content arranged by their lords in Delhi.

The gold carrying racket was revealed on July 5 after the capture of 30 kgs of the metal from a transfer routed to the United Arab Emirates department in the state Capital. A multi-organization group headed by the National Investigation Agency is testing the situation and 34 individuals have been captured up until now.
