- EFSAS says India is confident of confrontation on its own
- Along with the talks, China is also increasing its strength, China is also shocked
- India is not ready to take help of America or Quad countries at present
After the border dispute with China over eastern Ladakh, even if the whole world, especially the US, is with India, India alone believes to challenge China. A think tank in Europe claims that the US also gave India a chance to form a Quad against Beijing, but India has shown that it can stand firmly on any issue before China. Since the violent clash between the Chinese and Indian armies in June, there have been several talks between the two countries and the situation on the border has been normalized to some extent or not.
China shocked by India’s stance
The European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) has said, ‘The Chinese went from Finger 4 to Finger 5 in the initial phase of the military retreat on Pangong Soo but continued deployment along the hillside. India is insisting that China move from Finger 5 to Finger 8. At the same time, representatives of China are demanding from India that they move from the forward areas but India has refused to withdraw until China completely withdraws. EFSAS says that like Doklam in 2017 here too, China’s political and military leadership’s resolute attitude and determination in the face of China’s aggression has surprised China.
India is gaining strength
Quoting a report from the Indian Ministry of Defense, EFSAS has said, “To get such results to be acceptable to both sides, negotiations are going on at the military and diplomatic level, but for now the status quo will remain for some time.” This means that both countries will maintain their stand at such an altitude when winter comes and despite difficult weather. India has gathered a large amount of power. As India practices every year to strengthen its grip in the Siachen Glacier, preparations are also being made.
Strong for any confrontation
EFSAS says that even though China is seeking to improve bilateral relations rather than the border issue, India’s readiness suggests it is strong for any serious confrontation situation. The institute says, “China has from time to time harassed India on the border and violated the agreement to establish peace between the two sides.” India is also now understanding that it is grappling with this issue alone which is of no use.
India is not giving up its defense to protect
Even though China is asking India to take an ‘easy route’, India believes that it is now firm and strong that it can withstand the unexpected aggressive activities of China by standing up for a serious confrontation along the border. India hopes that the current confrontation will be resolved by negotiation, but it does not want to leave any stone unturned to defend its territory if the conflict escalates. The think-tank has even said that it would be better if both countries find a solution by mutual agreement in which China retreats with respect. Russia and close friends of both China and India also play a big role in this.
America has offered help
On the US’s attempt to take India with China against China in this entire matter, EFSAS has also said that in early July, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows had said that the US was firmly involved in the dispute between India and China. Would stand up and alleged that no one around China was spared from his aggression. Despite the offer of help from America, India has decided that it will not take the help of America or any other country until the situation becomes so serious. Along with QUAD countries – Japan, USA, and Australia, at present, India is not moving towards creating a front against China.
India was neither part of the alliance, nor will it be
EFSAS quoted the Foreign Minister of India as saying, ‘Not aligned was a particular time and term used in the context of geopolitical politics. One aspect of this was independence, which is still valid for us today. We were never part of any major alliance and never will be. EFSAS says that the United States must move beyond the common assurance of standing with India to clarify what it can offer to convince India to side with China.
