The agency aims to conduct a common preliminary examination for various central government recruitment.

The central government chaired by PM Narendra Modi decided to set up a common recruitment body called National Recruitment Agency on August 20. The Agency aims to conduct a common preliminary examination, the scores of which will be used for various central government recruitment.

At first, the Agency will direct tests for Group B and C (non-specialized) posts. There is a proposition to grow the domain of the tests.

Presently, the Group B and C enlistment is finished by Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

NRA will lead a typical starter test and dependent on the scores got by the up-and-comers, IBPS, SSC, and RRB will direct the Tier II and Tier III assessments. This implies these organizations will stay set up; notwithstanding, the primer tests will be led by the NRA.

NRA plans to lead separate tests for graduate applicants, twelfth pass competitors, and tenth pass up-and-comers. The scores got in these tests will be substantial for a long time which can be utilized to apply for Tier II enrollment.

There is no limitation on the number of endeavors an up-and-comer can make however there will be an upper age limit for competitors. The best substantial score will be considered as the current score.

At first, up-and-comers will have an alternative to show up for the tests in 12 dialects. There are plans to grow the number of dialects in which the test will be directed later on.

As of now, around 2.5 crore competitors show up for these tests for around 1.25 lakh opportunities. The Agency intends to smooth out the procedure of enlistment for different focal government positions.

Highlights of NRA Exam

  • The common preliminary exam for various Group A and Group B recruitment drives.
  • Separate exams for graduates, class 12th pass, and class 10th pass.
  • Initially, the NRA exam will replace the preliminary exams for various recruitments conducted by IBPS. SSC, and RRB.
  • No restrictions in the number of attempts.
  • There will be an upper age limit to appear in the exam with relaxation to candidates coming from reserved categories according to the norms.
  • The exam scores are valid for 3 years. The best valid scores will be considered as the current score for recruitment purposes.
  • IBPS, SSC, and RRB will remain in place to conduct Tier II and Tier III exams.
  • Exams will be conducted in 12 languages.
