The central government chaired by PM Narendra Modi decided to set up a common recruitment body called National Recruitment Agency on August 20. The Agency aims to conduct a common preliminary examination, the scores of which will be used for various central government recruitment.
At first, the Agency will direct tests for Group B and C (non-specialized) posts. There is a proposition to grow the domain of the tests.
Presently, the Group B and C enlistment is finished by Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
NRA will lead a typical starter test and dependent on the scores got by the up-and-comers, IBPS, SSC, and RRB will direct the Tier II and Tier III assessments. This implies these organizations will stay set up; notwithstanding, the primer tests will be led by the NRA.

Highlights of NRA Exam
- The common preliminary exam for various Group A and Group B recruitment drives.
- Separate exams for graduates, class 12th pass, and class 10th pass.
- Initially, the NRA exam will replace the preliminary exams for various recruitments conducted by IBPS. SSC, and RRB.
- No restrictions in the number of attempts.
- There will be an upper age limit to appear in the exam with relaxation to candidates coming from reserved categories according to the norms.
- The exam scores are valid for 3 years. The best valid scores will be considered as the current score for recruitment purposes.
- IBPS, SSC, and RRB will remain in place to conduct Tier II and Tier III exams.
- Exams will be conducted in 12 languages.
