The committee said the group claimed responsibility for the May 1, 2010 bomb attack on Times Square. It attacked the US consulate in Peshawar in April 2010, killing at least six Pakistani nationals and injuring 20 others. The US State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asia Affairs said in a tweet that it welcomes Mehsud to be included in the ISIL and Al Qaeda sanctions list by the United Nations.

If an individual or organization is blacklisted by the Security Council, countries have to restrain their economic sources, other financial assets, and economic resources without delay.
