Pakistan’s betrayal shocks Sikhs: Imran Khan govt gives Kartarpur Gurudwara control from PSGPC to Muslim body
Pakistan Ministry of Religious Affairs has taken over the control of the Kartarpur Gurudwara from PSGPC and handed it over to Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) ahead of one-year anniversary of its opening.
The Imran Khan-led Pakistan government has officially taken over full control of the Gurudwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Punjab province’s Narowal district. It is for the first time that Pakistan’s Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee has lost management rights of the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.
The move comes only in front of Pakistan’s Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (PSGPC) wanting to sort out the main commemoration of the Kartarpur Gurudwara opening on November 9.
The Pakistan Ministry of Religious Affairs has assumed control over the control from PSGPC and gave it over to Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). The ETPB oversees strict properties and sanctuaries of Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan.
As indicated by an official request dated November 3: “Subsequent upon the endorsement of Project Management Unit (PMU) Kartarpur Corridor by ECC of the Cabinet, and confirmed by the Cabinet (passed on by MoRA…dated 23.10.2020), the skillful authority has been satisfied to build up Project Management Unit (PMU), a self-financing body, for Management and Maintenance of Gurdwara Dardar Sahib Kartarpur (GADSK) under the authoritative control of ETPB.”

For the benefit of the worldwide Sikh people group, Akali Dal pioneer Manjinder Singh Sirsa emphatically denounced the move. He requested reestablishing the privilege of sewa to PSGPC.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pioneer Tarun Chug likewise scrutinized the secularism of the Imran Khan government. He said the move has harmed the assumptions of the Sikhs and Hindus over the world.
