US President-elect Joe Biden and PM Narendra Modi hold a phone conversation on Tuesday night and discuss matters related to COVID-19, climate change, and the Indo-Pacific region.

US President-elect Joe Biden spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night in their first phone conversation since the results of the US election was declared earlier this month. 

PM Modi praised Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris on their triumph and repeated New Delhi’s duty to the Indo-US key association and examined their “common needs and concerns”.

Taking to microblogging website Twitter, Modi stated, “Addressed US President-elect Joe Biden on the telephone to salute him. We repeated our strong responsibility to the Indo-US vital association and examined our mutual needs and concerns — Covid-19 pandemic, environmental change, and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific Region.”

Further, PM Modi said Kamala Harris’ triumph involves extraordinary pride and inspiration for the Indian-American people group.
