The Government of Nepal decided to cancel the ongoing budget session of Parliament without dissolving it. This decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting held at the official residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Bluewater. Olli fears that if the Parliament session ends, there will be further pressure on him to resign.
Round of meetings also at Dahal’s residence
The rounds of meetings are also continuing at the residence of Communist Party Chairman and Oli’s rival Pushp Kamal Dahal. Party General Secretary Bishnu Podel, Deputy Prime Minister Ishore Pokharel, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, Shankar Pokharel, Prime Minister Oli’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, and Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Subhash Nembang arrived at his house on Thursday morning. All the leaders met Prachanda. It is believed that the government was discussed in this.

Prachanda bluntly told the leaders during the meeting that Prime Minister Oli should follow the party’s system, procedures, and decisions. Communist Party Standing Committee meeting, PM not included
The meeting of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party is going on in the Bluewater of Kathmandu. PM Oli has also not been involved in this. Even before this, PM Oli did not attend the meeting held in the last week of June. Oli deferred many important discussions at the party standing committee meeting held in December 2019. He was afraid that he would not be criticized during the meeting.

Only 15 members out of 44 with Oli
Ollie knows that only 15 members in the 44-member standing committee are on his side. Therefore, if he joins the meeting, the pressure to resign will increase. On the very first day of the meeting, there was fierce friction between Oli and Prachanda. While Prachanda accused the government of failing on every front, Oli said that he had failed to run the party.
Oli’s edge from the meeting, the party raised questions on the intention
During the meeting, everyone hoped that PM Oli would definitely join. Party General Secretary Bishnu Podel told the meeting that the Prime Minister is busy with his work and he will join later, but he did not come until the meeting is over. After which the members expressed their displeasure that PM Oli has ignored the party meeting happening after so long.
