There is no terrorist today in the Tral, called the stronghold of Hizbul commanders like Musa and Burhan
Tral of South Kashmir has been declared terror-free for the first time since 1989. The army has recently killed three militants in this area. In the past, many big commanders have been piled here.
The Tral of Pulwama, which was considered the biggest stronghold of the Hizbul Mujahideen militants since the 90s, has today liberated the area from the forces of the anti-terror operations. In all the operations conducted in the last few years in this area of Pulwama, the army not only killed many top commanders but also declared it terror-free.
No militants are active in Tral, which is about 45 km from Srinagar. This was confirmed by Jammu and Kashmir Police IG Vijay Kumar after a recent encounter in which three terrorists were killed. This area of Pulwama is home to former Hizbul commanders Burhan Wani, Zakir Musa, and several most wanted terrorists. In the year 2016, where the army killed Burhan in July, in the same year, terrorists like Zakir Musa were also killed.
Tral became free for the first time since 1989
This is the first time since the outbreak of terrorism in the valley in 1989 that no terrorists are present in Tral. Several operations have been carried out continuously in the wooded part of this area called Hizbul’s citadel area. Every year, there is also the movement of thousands of pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra through this route of Tral and Avantipora. In such a situation, this area is also called very sensitive from the point of view of security.
Several violent demonstrations took place during the encounter
Before making this area terror-free, security forces have conducted several anti-terrorist operations here. During such encounters, violent demonstrations have also taken place at various times. Apart from this, there have been many terrorist attacks on the convoy of security forces in Tral.
