US Bans Pakistan International Airlines Flights over Concerns about Pilot Certifications
Pakistan last month grounded almost a third of its pilots after discovering they may have falsified their qualifications.
The US Department of Transportation said it has revoked permission for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to conduct charter flights to the United States, citing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) concerns over Pakistani pilot certifications.
The data is contained in a denial of unique authorization dated July 1 given by the office to Reuters on Friday.
Pakistan a month ago grounded very nearly 33% of its pilots in the wake of finding they may have misrepresented their capabilities.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency suspended PIA’s authorization to travel to the alliance for a half year in a hit to the transporter’s tasks.
PIA was not accessible quickly for input outside ordinary business hours.
Pakistan’s Geo News revealed PIA had affirmed the US boycott and said it would address the worries through progressing restorative measures inside the carrier.
Pakistan’s establishing of pilots with questionable certifications followed the accident of a PIA flies in May that slaughtered 97 individuals.
