Strongly denouncing China, Mike Pompeo said the coronavirus pandemic that “came from Wuhan” has set off a “robust discussion” about the Chinese Communist Party.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had strong words for China today and said the US “stands with India to deal with any threat”. In the backdrop of India’s military stand-off with the Chinese troops at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, he also expressed his country’s support for India in its efforts to “defend its sovereignty”.

Mr. Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark T Esper had shown up on Monday for critical talks pointed toward boosting protection and security ties between the two nations.

The 175-day stand-off in Ladakh was talked about at their 40-minute gathering with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at the South Block, authorities said.

“We offered our appreciation to the fighters who set out their lives in the Galwan Valley as of late,” Mr. Pompeo said after a visit to Delhi’s National War Memorial, alluding to the 20 warriors who passed on in a conflict with Chinese soldiers on June 15.

“The US will stand with India in its endeavors to safeguard its sway and its freedom… Our countries are focused on cooperating into expanding our associations across numerous fronts,” he included.

Firmly censuring China, Mr. Pompeo said the Covid pandemic that “originated from Wuhan” has set off a “strong conversation” about the Chinese Communist Party.

“Our chiefs and our residents see with expanding clearness that the Chinese Communist Party is no companion to majority rules system, the standard of law, straightforwardness nor the opportunity of the route, the establishment of a free and open and prosperous Indo-Pacific. I’m happy to state India and the US are finding a way to reinforce cooperation against all dangers and not simply those presented by the CCP,” he included.

The US-China column over exchange issues had snowballed after the Coronavirus pandemic, with US President Donald Trump unequivocally reprimanding China for the episode. Mr. Pompeo, who went to the gathering of Quad a month ago, had pummeled China at the time over its expansionist disposition, “misuse, debasement, and intimidation”.

It is “more basic now than any time in recent memory that we work together to shield our kin and accomplices from the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party) abuse, defilement and intimidation”, he included, referring to China’s activities in South and East China Seas, Hong Kong, the Himalayas, the Taiwan waterway… these are only a couple models,” he had said.
